Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 12, 2026
LOSTCompute ("we," "us," or "our") provides device repair, upgrade, custom PC build, and related technology services, both in person and through our website at lostcompute.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Contact and service information you give us: name, email address, phone number, and any message content when you use our contact form, request a quote, or book a repair.
Device and repair information: when you bring in or ship a device for diagnostic, repair, upgrade, or custom build service, we collect information about the device itself (make, model, serial number or IMEI, reported issue, and physical condition) and any account/repair-order records tied to that service.
Order and account information: if you create an account or place an order through our online shop, we collect billing and shipping details, order history, and related account information.
Payment information: payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card number or other sensitive payment credentials on our own systems.
Automatically collected information: like most websites, our Site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep your shopping cart and session working, remember preferences, and understand how the Site is used (see Section 4).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, custom builds, and other services you request;
- Process orders, payments, and shipping;
- Communicate with you about quotes, repair status, appointments, and order updates;
- Respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form;
- Send service-related or, with your consent, marketing communications, which you may opt out of at any time;
- Maintain the security, integrity, and proper functioning of our Site and business systems;
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us operate our business, such as payment processors, email and hosting providers, and shipping carriers — only to the extent needed to provide their service to us;
- Parts and repair vendors, when fulfilling a specific repair or order requires it;
- Legal or safety reasons, if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of LOSTCompute, our customers, or others.
4. Cookies and Tracking
Our Site uses cookies required for core functionality, such as keeping your cart contents and session active while you browse or check out. We do not currently use third-party advertising or analytics tracking on the Site. If that changes, this policy will be updated accordingly. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the Site (such as checkout) may not work properly without them.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal, order, and repair-service information for as long as necessary to provide our services, maintain business and warranty records, and comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Device data (such as serial numbers or reported issues) tied to a completed repair order is retained as part of that order's service history.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You may contact us at any time to:
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal and recordkeeping obligations;
- Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link included in those emails, or by contacting us directly;
- Ask questions about how your information is handled.
To make a request, contact us using the information in Section 9 below.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Site and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold. No method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date.
Repair Service Terms & Liability
These terms apply whenever you drop off, ship, or otherwise request diagnostic, repair, upgrade, or custom-build services from LOSTCompute, in addition to the Privacy Policy above.
1. Estimates and Diagnostic Fees
We will provide a diagnostic assessment and estimate before any repair work begins. A diagnostic fee may apply and is due whether or not you choose to proceed with the recommended repair; if you do proceed, the diagnostic fee is credited toward the cost of that repair unless otherwise noted on your invoice. We do not perform repair work beyond diagnostics without your approval.
2. Data Backup and Data Loss
You are solely responsible for backing up your data, software, and files before dropping off or shipping your device. While we take reasonable care during service, repair, diagnostic, and upgrade work carries an inherent risk of data loss. LOSTCompute is not responsible for any loss, corruption, or compromise of data, programs, or files that occurs during service. Data recovery, if requested, is a separate service and is not guaranteed to succeed.
3. Pre-Existing Conditions and Device Assessment
We document the condition and any pre-existing damage or issues we observe at intake. LOSTCompute is not responsible for pre-existing damage, prior unauthorized repairs, or issues unrelated to the requested service, including problems that surface as a result of a device's age, prior condition, or pre-existing internal damage once the device is opened for service.
4. Repair Warranty
Repairs, parts, and labor performed by LOSTCompute are covered by a 90-day limited warranty from the date of service, unless a different warranty period is stated on your specific invoice or repair order. This warranty covers defects in the specific work performed and does not cover unrelated issues, damage from misuse, liquid exposure, drops, or unauthorized modification or service by a third party after we return your device.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LOSTCompute's total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount you paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost data, lost profits, or lost business, arising from our services.
6. Abandoned Devices
If you do not pick up your device, respond to our attempts to contact you, or pay outstanding charges within 30 days of being notified that your device is ready or that an estimate requires your decision, your device may be considered abandoned. We will make reasonable, documented attempts to reach you using the contact information you provided before treating a device as abandoned. Once a device is deemed abandoned, LOSTCompute may sell, recycle, or otherwise dispose of it to recover unpaid charges, to the extent permitted by applicable law, without further notice or compensation to you.
7. Right to Refuse Service
LOSTCompute reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service for any device or request, including devices that are unsafe to service, reported stolen, or subject to a request we reasonably believe to be fraudulent or unlawful.
